Isn't that Julian Barratt doing the voice-over for some financial ad on TV now? Moneysupermarket.com. Oh dear. Still, I would too if they were willing to pay me...

Papa Fraud:

Aren't they doing their own festival or something?

Oh yeah, Booshfest - 5th July:

They were on Jonathan Ross's radio show yesterday talking about it. Listen again at:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/ross/ (about 40 mins in)

Also - saw Rich Fulcher in a trailer to some new comedy show coming on BBC3.

And found this YouTube clip of Julian Barratt doing stand-up:

And here's Noel:

They may be working with Mark Ronson. Or maybe not. More here:

It also has a review of the Boosh festival. My favourite quote being:

"...80s star Gary Numan, sporting suspiciously black hair..."

I thought I heard him on a car ad last night. Perhaps he's got a sound-alike - apparently there's a bloke who sounds like Stuart Maconie doing the DFS ads.

Then again, perhaps he's just bought a house. Or perhaps the Taxman came after his Mighty Boosh millions.

Noel Fielding turned up briefly in some comedy on E4 last Thursday apparently.

It was a sketch show called Dolly & Laura - or something like that. I expect it's on YouTube now. Dunno if you can watch E4 stuff again online. Thought you could but when I tried to look for it the site just confused me. Clearly I'm not the target demographic for E4 - if I was then I'm sure I would have found there web-site enthralling and linked to it from my bebo or myface or spacebook account.

Not that I'm old or bitter or anything.

I think the next Boosh sighting will be this Friday on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.

Just got an email from Play and there appears to be a book coming out: The Mighty Book of Boosh. boosh

"Come with us on a journey in to the magical world of The Mighty Boosh...This autumn Canongate invites you to join Howard Moon, Vince Noir, Naboo, Bollo, Bob Fossil, Old Gregg, the Moon, and all your other favourite characters on a unique journey in to the world of The Mighty Boosh.Incredibly funny, visually dynamic, surreal, musical, wildly creative...The Mighty Boosh is unlike anything else on British television, and this beautifully illustrated Christmas humour book promises to be the same."

Pre-order it here

I think (hope) Play got a bit of their blurb wrong though as it says it's 256 pages with 4 colour illustrations.

That's probably right. 4 colour pictures, and they'll charge you twenty nicker for it an all. I'll try and catch them on Jonathan Ross, but I haven't watched him for ages, cos it's always the same old same old "Mr Wicky Gervais!"

On de Boosh tip, check it, respeck it: http://www.myspace.com/mattberrysmusic Some nice tunes to download.

Did you see it? The interview was fine [it'll be on the i-player for a week]: they mentioned the book and the tour and I started thinking "I do really enjoy The Boosh, and they are very funny. Perhaps I should reconsider going to see them live". Then they performed Eels live and it was godawful.

It sounds like seeing them live now might be problematic for two reasons: 1) the rabid fans; 2) the fact that they seem to want to be taken seriously as musicians.

The book does look good though - it sounds like they've put a lot of effort in.

The latest Boosh merchandise:

Vinyl figures approx 4.5" tall. No movement. About £15.

You can order them from Forbidden Planet here:

I think the Howard one is sort of all right but their not great. I've seen other stuff that the designer - Pete Fowler - has done so I think it's meant to be a quite stylized version but I usually quite like his stuff and these are... not so good.

Pete Fowler used to do all the sleeve art to the Super Furry Animals records - then he went off into doing weird little vinyl figures of imaginary creatures (some of which I love).

His better stuff is at monsterism.net

Have you seen the Boosh are (inevitably) now putting out a box set of series 1,2 & 3?

"The sleeve has been designed by Noel Fielding. As well as amazing art work the release will also include a sticker sheet containing 17 stickers and 4 double sided art cards. On top of all this there is 2.5 hours of brilliant never before available special features. These are:

A Journey through Time and Space documentary
Behind The Scenes of a Live Night
Footage from the Royal Television Society Awards
Dave Stewart Interview
The Making of Sammy the crab
Deleted Scenes from the Pilot and Outtakes from the Pilot
Pre-recorded Live night links
The Cinema Trailer
The Crimping collection
Paramount Zookeeper sketches
Bob Fossil Audio"

It's a 7 disc box apparently. It looks like the best place to get it at the moment is HMV online - £7 off (although it's got a different sleeve). I've only got the first series DVD so it might be worth getting - otherwise I suspect I may have felt that a Boosh-shaped phallus was approaching me in a Peter Wyngarde track-three stylee.

If they do a fourth series do you think there'll be another box set? They're bound to put out a DVD of the current tour so there'll probably be a Box set of all the live stuff some time after that.

I don't care really - it's not like anyone has to buy these - I'm just trying to sound like I have an opinion.

Have you seen The Devil's Whore? In certain pictures (not this one so much but this was the best I could find online) The Wire's Dominic West look's like Howard Moon.

In the absence of a working aerial and sky dish, we've been watching the boosh series one on doovde. they're still ace. I hope they don't end up ruining it all by trying to be pop stars. I see what you mean by stylised, but there's stylised and "it looks like I made them."

I'm getting an Army of Lovers vibe from the pic above. It's the most tenuous link of all time. One of them has a similar 'tache and beard, and that's it. No other connection.

No no, it's quite valid - although the lady in the middle has a far more impressive cleavage than Dominic West.
